California Road Trip Part II

We started Saturday off by watching Josh play his last basketball game of the season. He did great! He scored multiple baskets. I am sure he has learned everything he knows from the great coaching from Daddy and Papa. Joey had a great time watching from the stands and hanging with the girls.

After the game we headed back to the Hernandez house to visit with Marty and Karen. We also got a visit from John, Katie and baby Jason who came down from Rocklin. Jason is such a little sweetheart and gave the kids lots of love. It was weird to see Joey bigger than someone. Jason is three months younger. The kids had a great time playing. We were so happy that we got to see everyone!

After a fabulous pizza lunch, we packed up and headed down to Morgan Hill for the rest of the trip. Marty and Karen were nice enough to host us and the Hernandez crew again. It was great. Joey had unlimited access to the kids and lots of space to run around. Much nicer than a small hotel room. We had a very relaxing weekend filled with lots of playing, eating, shopping and watching the Daytona 500. Matt and I are not true Nascar fans, so it was cool to watch it with people who are. I am amazed at how much the kids know about the sport, especially Josh. It was cool to see a rookie win but sad that Josh's' favorite Dale Jr did not. He got wrapped up in a wreck at the end of the race. It's only the start of the season so hopefully he will get another chance this year to make a run of the win.

Joey loved the long staircase to climb up and slide down.

All the cousins. I sure wish Joey got some coloring like his cousins. Boy is he a white patty.

On Monday around 11am, we said goodbye to everyone. It was sad to go, but we had an amazing trip!! We hope to make another one. Maybe this summer so we can use the pool!
Some light reading.

We headed for the border and made it to Canyonville, OR Monday night. We checked into our hotel across the street from Seven Feathers Casino and crashed. We thought about taking Joey gambling, but then decided it might not be appropriate just yet. Maybe when he is two!
Beautiful Mt Shasta. A much better view from when we drove down and passed it in the snow and dark.
All tuckered out from a wonderful trip.
We got home around 3:30pm on Tuesday and began the task of unpacking. We also got a little depressed from being away from the family and getting back to reality. Thanks Cali family for a wonderful trip! We can't wait to see all of you again soon!
